RWANDA GUIDELINES FOR RE-OPENING TOURISM ACTIVITIES DURING COVID-19

Guidelines for re-opening tourism activities during COVID-19

I. INTRODUCTION

The principles and considerations outlined in these guidelines were compiled through reference materials including from the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), Global Association for Attractions Industry, World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Rwanda Ministry of Health (MoH) guidelines on COVID-19 prevention. The guidelines provide a framework for reopening the tourism industry in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. While all establishments must adhere to general guidelines, specific recommendations cater to each type of tourist facility/product with the aim of ensuring the safe re-opening of businesses.

These guidelines apply to various types of tourism activities, operators, and attractions including national parks, boat riding, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, birding, museums, culture, and heritage sites.
