VISIT Nyiragongo Volcano !!!

Climbing the Nyiragongo Volcano is not easy, but it is one of the most special activities you can do in Africa! Around 10.30 in the morning, you will depart on a climb up to 3470 meters which will last between 6 and 7 hours. The total distance of the tour is just 8 kilometers, but it is very steep. The tour is divided into longer walks of one and a half hours and shorter treks of 30 minutes. There is always a short break between the different parts to catch your breath and have something to eat or drink. At this comfortable pace, you reach the top of the active volcano where you can see the largest lava lake in the world.

Just before sunset, you reach the top where you can spend the night right next to the edge of the crater. A team of porters brings your luggage upstairs and we send a chef along who will prepare a nice hot meal for you and provide you with fresh tea or coffee to keep you warm during the evening. The stay on the edge of the crater is luxurious and the unique location makes for an unforgettable experience. In the morning our chef prepares a delicious breakfast for you and you descend back to the base of the volcano.
