Clear the immigrations and Customs and later Meet & Greet by the Akagera Aviation team. After transfer to The Retreat by Heaven Hotel . Dinner and overnight stay at The Retreat by Heaven, Kigali (there is a wait of up-to 24 hours for tests results).
Breakfast at the hotel, check out and settlement of any extras then transfer to Gisozi Genocide memorial center. After transfer to Akagera National Park, check-in and lunch at Lodge. After lunch you’ll embark on a boat cruise on Lake Ihema, then dinner and overnight stay at Magashi Lodge.
After breakfast at the lodge, you will embark on a full day game drive both South & North-side of the park. Lead by a guide, Akagera National Park Game Drive occurs early in the mornings and late in the afternoons. While driving along the park tracks in a 4WD Safari vehicle, passengers will have the chance to spot animals such as hyenas, elephants, various buffalo and lions. Packed lunch at one of the picnic sites and then return to lodge. Dinner and overnight star at Magashi Lodge.
After an early breakfast, check-out and start on final game drive. Exit the park and transfer to Volcanoes National Park -after a stop off for lunch in Kigali. Bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo in Rwanda, the Volcanoes National Park is best known as a sanctuary for the region’s rare mountain gorillas. Visitors flock here to experience a face to face encounter with these intriguing creatures. The park is set high on the jungle covered slopes of the volcanic Virunga Mountains. Highly regulated treks through the reserve allow visitors to spend an hour at a time with these incredible primates in their natural habitat. While the gorillas are without a doubt the main draw, visitors can also look forward to exploring a network of scenic hiking trails, visiting the tomb of the world-famous Dian Fossey and the Karisoke Research Centre, and enjoying a beautiful day hike to the crater lake on Mount Bisoke. Arrival at Bisate Lodge-rest of day at leisure, for dinner and overnight stay.
After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will proceed to the park headquarters in time for the Gorilla Trek briefing at 06:45 am. We will then transfer you to the start point of your guided walk. Here, your amazing adventure begins. Volcanoes National Park protects the steep slopes of this magnificent mountain range. It is the home of the rare mountain gorilla and the rich mosaic of montane ecosystems, which embrace evergreen and bamboo forest, open grassland, swamp, and heath. The high point will be spending an hour with the remarkably peaceful gorillas as they go about their daily life, feeding, playing, resting, and raising their young. After this memorable experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch and much needed rest. Dinner and overnight stay at Bisate Lodge.
After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for briefing. You’ll then embark on Golden Monkey Trek to begin your adventure. Located in Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda, RDB Golden Monkey Tracking offers visitors a unique experience of catching a glimpse of the endangered Golden Monkeys. These striking primates with their bright orange fur contrasting the green rainforests of the Virunga Mountains is a photographers dream. The Golden Monkeys can be found in very few places outside of Volcanoes National Park, and their vibrant colours, energetic demeanour, and sizeable troupes of up to 30 individuals are indeed a sight to behold. After lunch at the lodge you will visit Gorilla Guardian Village. Offering an adventurous stay in a traditional rural, Rwandan village that has existed for centuries living with and next to mountain gorillas in Parc National des Volcans. Nyungwe Forest National Park Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. You’ll then transfer to Nyungwe National Park. Arrival at One & Only Nyungwe House, Check in and dinner and overnight stay.
Nyungwe Forest National Park Head towards morning briefing for Chimpanzee Trek, then onto start your chimp experience. Offered by the One&Only Nyungwe House, Chimpanzee Trekking is an exciting activity whereby guests will dash through the flora to encounter the chimpanzees playing in the wild within the Nyungwe National Park. With a maximum of 8 people per tour, the Chimpanzee trekking is a popular and challenging adventure, but due to the authentic nature of the experience, chimpanzee viewing is not a guarantee. After, you will return to the lodge for lunch and then embark onto the canopy walk experience. Suspended above ravine amidst the lush vegetation and montane forest of the Nyungwe National Park, Canopy Walk offers participants an exhilarating perspective atop the ancient treetops and wildlife. The 160 meters long suspended bridge is accessible as a part of a guided hike along the Igishigishigi trail or those hiking the Imbaraga and Umuyove trails Dinner and overnight stay at Bisate Lodge.
Kigali After and early checkout you set off on an early Colobus Monkey Trek. After you’ll return back to Kigali with a stop off in Butare for lunch. Depending how you are feeling you have the option of a visit to the Ethnographic museum (US$ 25.- pp). Arrive at The Retreat by Haven for dinner and overnight stay.
Kigali Breakfast at the hotel and checkout. A visit to Question Coffee café for master class session, lunch at Sole Luna restaurant and s visit to the famous Kimironko market. Depending on your flight schedule you’ll be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your outbound flight.
