8 Days Rwanda Safaris Adventure Combining (Akagera, Volcanoes & Nyungwe)

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive into the Nyungwe Forest. On the way you will visit Nyanza King’s Palace, Ethnographic Museum (there after continue for Nyungwe canopy walk and check-in at One & Only Nyungwe House.

After breakfast you will enter the Nyungwe forest to track the Nyungwe Chimpanzees. A walk into the forest with our knowledgeable guides well versed in botany, ornithology, and inter species relationships will be a whole new learning experience for you. You will return to the hotel for lunch after Driver towards Volcano National park and check-in at Gorilla Nest.

Early in the morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Volcanoes National Park for your first gorilla trek. You will arrive at the main office at 7:00am for a short briefing and coffee break before going on your trek. Your overnight will be at Gorilla Nest.

Driving distance: 3 – 5 hours

After an early breakfast (6:00 am) at the lodge, you will proceed to the park headquarters in time for the Golden Monkey Trek briefing at 06:45 am. We will then transfer you to the start point of your guide walk that begins at 07:00 am. After this memorable experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch and Akagera National park, check-in at Mantis Akagera game Lodge.

Akagera National Park game drive via hills side for the view of the lake after breakfast, you will go for a game drive, birding, guided, and later a night bat at the Lodge for a night game drive. Akagera renowned as one of the best birding areas in the world with more than 500 species recorded at the park. Year-round walking safaris are offered in limited areas, weather permitting the only private access area in Akagera so exclusive night game drives in open 4x4 vehicles are offered. Overnight stay at the Lodge.

Driving distance: 4 – 6 hours

A Second game in from south to Northern side of the park, Eastern Rwanda on the border with Tanzania which is managed by African Parks, and this has done a great job with conservation. In the past, there were lots of conflict between people and the park but this was solved by fencing off part of the park and the introduction of community tours where visitors are encouraged to visit the communities and benefit accordingly. Akagera national park is the only Savannah park in Rwanda and is home to several mammal species including Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Hippos, Kobs, Zebras, Bushbucks, Waterbucks, and most recently Black Rhinos have been introduced from South Africa, making Akagera national park officially a big 5 park like it was many years ago. It is also home to numerous bird species in several habitats which include woodland, swamps, lakes, and Savannah. Overnight stay at northern at Mantis game lodge.

After late breakfast drive back to Kigali for Kigali Genocide memorial visit and short city tour and souvenirs shopping, depends on your Departure flight back home time. Bye bye Kigali.
