Wake at dawn to join your Maasai Guide on a Morning Walking Safari across the savannah. Walking alongside the Maasai is an unforgettable experience, which perfectly echoes the wanderings of the wildebeest. On your walk, your guide will show you the finer details of the savannah, including wildlife footprints and dung. Your walk finishes at Wilderness Bush Camp. We like to think that moving through the Basecamp Circuit mimics the migratory routes of the wildebeest. It is both a physical and a mental journey that will broaden your horizon and deepen your understanding of the wild – and of yourself. Wilderness Bush Camp is a tribute to safari as it was meant to be. Tucked away deep inside the incomparable Saddle Valley, it is just you, the Maasai, the wildlife, and the stars – absolutely no unnecessary distractions. After a midday relaxation join your Maasai Guide for an Afternoon Walk or Game Drive, returning to camp in time for a three-course dinner served to you in the middle of the wilderness. After dinner, gather around the fireplace to listen to the meditative Maasai chanting while enjoying the rare privilege of zero light pollution.  Overnight at Wilderness Camp.

Rise with the sun in time for your Morning Game Drive. Greet those wildebeest fortunate enough to survive the night; congratulate the lions happily feasting on freshly killed prey. After breakfast at the Wilderness Camp, you will collect your things and prepare to continue your journey through the Basecamp Circuit. Your next destination is Eagle View Camp, which in 2013 made the National Geographic Travellers Magazine’s list of the twenty-five top eco-lodges in the world– the only one in Kenya. At 4 pm meet your Maasai Guide for your Afternoon Game Drive. Eagle View is situated inside Naboisho Wildlife Conservancy, a 20,000-hectare (50,000 acres) large nature conservancy leased directly from more than 500 Maasai families. Inside Naboisho the number of vehicles permitted is strictly limited. This has the double advantage of attracting a wide array of species as well as creating a more exclusive viewing experience for tourists. Inside Naboisho you will encounter the Northern Migration of wildebeest, the not-so-distant relative of the wildebeest migrating from the Serengeti that you meet in the National Reserve. The wildebeest of the Northern Migration walk down from the Loita Plains in the North in search of fresh grass and water, exactly like their southern relatives. Start your day with a Morning Game Drive, followed by a picnic breakfast on the savannah. Explore Naboisho together with your Maasai Guide, who will tell you more about the importance of private conservancies for the protection of the Greater Mara Ecosystem and the Maasai people. At lunchtime, we will go back to the camp for lunch. Later on an afternoon Game Drive with a Basecamp Sundowner on the savannah. Drive back to Eagle View in the dark. Your guide will equip the car with infrared lights to allow you to spot the nocturnal animals of Naboisho. A Night Safari is an exhilarating experience, only to be enjoyed inside private conservancies like Naboisho.

Wake at dawn in time for a final Morning Game Drive. Witness how the savannah comes alive as the sun rises. Return for breakfast. After breakfast collect your things and say your goodbyes. Just like the wildebeest, the time has come to wander on. Reach the Naboisho Air Strip in time for your scheduled 4 pm flight, the perfect departure time for international connections.
